This year marks our eighth annual Cookeville Comic Arts Festival! This event series aims to shine a spotlight on our local comic artists in the Upper Cumberland, promote comics as an art and literary format, and encourage new creators to take up a pencil and express themselves. Over time, the festival has evolved and shifted through several formats, but a constant of the past six years has been the Community Anthology, a printed collection of short comics submitted by local artists of all ages and art styles. This year is no different, and at today’s Debut Day we have a hearty sized stack of anthologies fresh of the printer and just waiting for you to come pick one up. These will be available at the Cookeville library while supplies last!
However, we recognize that not everyone is able to come by the library in person right now, so to help share the comics love we obtained permission from the artists to offer a special digital edition this year. The file below collects all of this year’s comics into a single pdf so that you can download it and enjoy them at your leisure. We hope you enjoy reading these as much as we did, and don’t forget to look into our vast collection of comics and graphic novels for all ages the next time you’re at the library!
